They say, ‘Never work with children or animals,’ I do both.

Hello - I am Suzi Darsa - The Highgate Family Photographer and I took the plunge in 2019 to turn my passion for photography into my business. With a background of working in the arts - at The Tate Galleries, The British Journal of Photography and at a leading image library, I launched my photography business The Highgate Dog Photographer and have found success photographing beautiful dogs and their lovely owners. However, I also discovered that my passion for photography could not be sated with photographing dogs alone! My desire to capture beautiful and perfect moments remains a constant desire and I have extended my career to working with families to create informal and touching photography that captures the essence of family.

I understand that the thought of organising a photoshoot for your family can be daunting - with everyone expected to be on their best behaviour and look perfect. As a mum of two girls, I know that when it comes to kids (and adults!) nothing ever goes quite to plan, which is why the images I shoot are as natural and relaxed as possible, with no pressure to perform. Beauty can be found in the everyday and that is what my photography celebrates.

Asking a child to smile and look at the camera is a sure fire way of getting them to do anything but, so a photography session with me is more akin to having a friend round for a cuppa, who just happens to have a camera. Happy kids make happy parents, which makes for great photos.

If you are interested in finding out more, please do get in touch.

Session fees start at £185 and include a £35 credit that can be spent on framed prints, digital files and mounted prints. I also photograph children’s parties and other great family events, so please do get in touch to discuss how I can help you capture some timeless and beautiful memories of your family.

Kind words…

“ I was extremely impressed with Suzi's photos of my young children, with no forced smiles or awkward poses, the shots completely captured their gorgeous personalities. It was such an easy process and truly the hardest part was to decide which of these beautiful photos to frame! ”
